Finding Accommodation

This is probably the most important step since every next step you take towards settling down in Germany relies on your residence address.

We recommend looking for accommodation as early as possible.
If you don’t have a friend or a relative you can stay with, we suggest you find a temporary room or flat.
If you are looking for a permanent place, keep in mind that most apartments are not furnished.
If you contact us before you arrive, we can share helpful resources to make it easier for you to find a place to live.

For the best way to start on this, please answer the following questions when you write an email to us:

• Moving in date
• How high is your budget?
• Are you coming alone or do you bring family members?
• How big should the apartment be, or how many square meters/ rooms should it have?
• Is a shared apartment an option for you. Maybe even with a CISPA Colleague?
• Do you want to use public transportation or have your own car?
