Finding Accommodation

This is probably the most important step since every next move you take towards settling down in Germany relies on your residence address.

We recommend looking for accommodation as early as possible.
If you don’t have a friend or a relative you can stay with, we suggest you find a temporary room/flat.
If you are looking for a permanent place, keep in mind that most apartments are not furnished.
If you contact us before you arrive, we can share helpful resources to make it easier for you to find a place to live. But don't worry: we won't leave you alone with your search!

Feel free to contact the Onboarding and Integration Team.
We are happy to help you with advice and specific suggestions, or translating interesting ads.
You can also contact us with questions on recommendations, e.g., if you’d like to live in a residential area which is particularly family-friendly, one that offers a lot of clubbing possibilities, or a perfect bus connection.
We are happy to have you here and to make your start as smooth as possible.

ⓘ You can also check the Element channel, “Apartments” here in case there is a new flat posting. (CISPA Employees only)

But how do you proceed after finding „the one“, and how does it work in Germany?
